Blackberry cell phones have truly revolutionized the way people communicate with other people. It doesn’t matter if you use it for work whether it be a small, medium or large enterprise, you can also use your blackberry to enhance your every day life by organizing lists, appointments, documents, and a lot more. Nonetheless, Blackberries are cell phones and a lot of people call you to it. With all its menus and functions, handling a Blackberry can be difficult, and even the simplest tasks as adding ringtones to a blackberry can turn to a nightmare. This article is going to tell you how to add ringtones to a blackberry and a little bit more of customization.

Depending on your Blackberry, 7100 or 8700 series, you can assign an ADPCM or MP3 file respectively. Adding ringtones to a blackberry as an MP3 file is definitely the best choice for better hearing. It sounds loud and you can appreciate every sound of the song. But don’t worry because both series support a polyphonic MIDI file and those sound pretty loud and great. Once you know how to do it, adding ringtones to a blackberry is going to be fun and you’ll be able to share as many ringtones as you can with all your friends and coworkers.

How to add a ringtone to a blackberry? Here is how you do it for an MP3 file:

First navigate to the location of your MP3 file. By default you’ll find it in Media/Music/Media Card. Then locate the MP3 you want as your blackberry ringtone by scrolling to it, select it and then press Menu, followed by Set As Phone Tune. To finalize just click OK to confirm that you want to add the MP3 file as a Blackberry ringtone, and voila! That’s all there is to adding a ringtone to a Blackberry. Your MP3 song will sound as your blackberry ringtone from now on.

You can also assign a Blackberry ringtone to different groups of people in your contact list. Adding ringtones to a blackberry for different contact groups is very helpful to distinguish what kind of call you can expect only with the sound of your blackberry ringtone.

Adding ringontes to a blackberry can be done by downloading the ringtone directly from your mobile phone using its browser. You can also add a ringtone by recording the song or sound you want using the Media Manager.
