How do I clean my blackberry pearl Track ball?

On my blackberry my track ball sometimes doesnt roll to the left and down. And when I want to click on my messages or something it never works. Is there away to clean it or what?

    I have personally used a cotton swab. Don’t wet it or use alcohol.

    I do it regularly so the gunk doesn’t get a chance to build up.

    The lady at the T-Mobile store told me to put rubbing alcohol on a q-tip and rub it around the trackball. It really works.
