Will a blackberry curve work normal without the extra $30 you have to pay?

I have a razor from when they first came out and my contract is up and i want a new phone. I dont want another razor but i want the phone to play music. I really like the blackberry curve and was about to get one when AT&T said that it wouldn’t work right unless i got the extra $30 plan. So anybody that has had or has a curve please help.

How do I get a calender syn function with the blackberry curve?

I want to be able to put everything into like outlook and then put it onto my blackberry…

I thought about using the goggle sync, which would be better, but it said I need the claneder patch but the site wouldn’t download it…
